Grandma Shaw's Homemade Oreos

Alright... so I'm a fan of dessert.

I like Oreo cookies, but I don't LOVE them like Josh does... but these little babies are fantastic! This is a recipe from Josh's Grandma Shaw who we miss very dearly. Every time I make them I think of what a wonderful woman she was and how I wish I had gotten more time with her (I know we all do!). We love you Grandma Shaw!

This recipe makes TONS and my favorite is to freeze them and eat them frozen. They are so darn good!!

Here's the recipe- Super Simple! My specialty!1 box devil's food chocolate cake mix (or any chocolate cake mix)
3/4 cup shortening (i use butter flavor crisco)
2 eggs

Mix together. If you think its too thick add a TINY bit of water. Mine didn't need any water. Here's what it should look like:Roll out into pretty small balls. I'd say only 1/2 inch thick- really small- Mine still came out bigger than regular oreos. They look a lot bigger in the picture than they actually are. Make them small!Bake at 350 for 4 minutes on the bottom rack and then 4 minutes on the top rack. They won't LOOK done, but I promise, they are. Pull them out and leave them on the cookie sheet for about 2 minutes before moving them to the cooling rack.Spread cream cheese frosting to your hearts content between two cookies (I call mine Triple Stuf Oreos) and enjoy.

Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe:
4 oz. softened cream cheese
1/2 cup softened butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp milk
2-3 cups powdered sugar
(I never measure my p. sugar... I just pour and mix until its the right consistency... I think I actually use more than 3 cups...)

Like I said, since this recipe makes SO many, I make them up, freeze them and then I'm able to just pull them out of the freezer. I prefer them frozen... Definitely YUMMY!
